This Mother's’ Day weekend, Voices HEaRd 2019 is bringing together artists of all genders and ages, non-profit community organizations, and community-minded local businesses to build intergenerational common ground bridging our divides. Please see The Girl Project website for information about the festival.
The goal of the tabling event is to highlight the work of local nonprofits that share The Girl Project's mission of serving, empowering, and amplifying the voices of women and allow attendees to discover new opportunities for investing their time and talents to improve their community. Jenny Rice, founder and director of the Horse's Mouth story-telling program and associate professor of creative writing at the University of Kentucky, will be facilitating a session from 12:30 to 2:00 in which representatives of participating organizations will have 5-10 minutes to tell their stories. The atmosphere will be festive, with food and self-care stations for aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture, etc., provided by Centered.
