LWVUS Education Study Materials 

LWV of Lexington Video Contest for Young Adults  

A new LWV of Lexington Video Contest for Young Adults is available to interest young people in the purposes of the League and to promote membership. An award of $300 will be given to the first place winner; $200 for second place and $100 for third place.   

 

Videos will be posted on YouTube as part of the judging and award winning videos will be used to promote membership in the League. 


To participate, entrants must be 

Between the ages of 18 and 24

A resident or post-secondary education student in Fayette County  


To qualify, videos must:

Be non-partisan

Run between 30 and 150 seconds
Promote League membership among young citizens
Abide by state and federal laws
Must not include profanity, nudity, etc.

7th Annual LWV Essay Contest 

LWV of Lexington's 2011 Essay Contest 1st place winner is Michael Sommer, a 10th grader at Henry Clay High School, for his essay entitled "If You Can Keep It." He sponsoring teacher was Dr. Keen Babbage. You can view the essay by clicking here
